MY STORY
While studying at Appalachian State during my undergraduate degree, I became interested in Eastern Philosophy and body cultivation practices. I began studying about Buddhism, Daoism, and Hinduism through the Religious Studies Department. At the same time I began practicing Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Qi gong, yoga, and meditation. These interests combined into a coherent direction for my life path.
Upon finishing my undergraduate degree I moved to Asheville to began my formal Chinese Medicine education at Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts. I completed a 4 year full time masters degree.
I have been teaching at Daoist Traditions as a member of the Clinical Faculty for 6 years. I supervise students as they see patients during their 3rd and 4th years of their clinical training. By helping them create their treatment plans I am continuing to deepen and cultivate my own understanding of Chinese Medicine. I also teach the Tui Na class, a form of massage practiced in Chinese Medicine.
I have continued my study of Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and Qi gong from an expert teacher ever since. I have been practicing these ancient healing arts for 18 years.
In my free time I enjoy playing music, gardening, hiking and exploring the wonderful outdoors in this area.
